VAT number is mandatory for all Italian businesses wishing to purchase on the Brandsdistribution platform.
European Union (non-Italian) customers may purchase without a valid VAT number. In this case, Italian VAT will be charged at the time of purchase.
In both cases, Italian VAT may not be applied if the customer is VIES (Vat Information Exchange System) registered. Find out more here: https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/
A VAT number is not required for customers from countries outside the European Union. All orders to EU countries will be charged standard Italian VAT, while orders to countries outside the European Union, whether shipping is arranged by the customer or by Brandsdistribution, will be VAT exempt upon receipt of the DAE customs documents within 90 days of delivery of the goods.
